someone brought it up in the discord when asking about empty thrones's influences, but authors: what works are influences or inspirations for you?

i can start: i will say a lot of my thrones inspiration comes from...listening to music on car trips and making up scenes in my head. yeah. but also i find myself often iterating on a lot of fiction that's inspired me for years, now. earnest, over the top acclaimed visual novel fate/stay night. the monogatari series's idiosyncratic character banter and character work in general. soulsborne games left an imprint on my psyche and people have noticed similar aesthetic and stylistic elements.
