Open Thread #2 - now in tripartite mode

New month, new open thread. If you haven't already, make sure to leave your thoughts on BHTN site organization here. As an experiment, there's going to be three major comment sections in here, for canon work discussion, fic discussion, and general talk.

There's been some changes in between the last open thread and now. Pact, Pate, and Poke content is now allowed here. AI-generated content is officially banned. A recent Dreamwidth codepush went through, so the mobile appearance should be better now. <hr/> lines should be visible now. The tag structure is still a work in progress, depending on how feedback in the site organization page goes.

Edit: the tag structure has been reorganized and applied to all existing posts, hopefully for the last time in a while. New fics should have the genre listed before the cut. If possible, it would be nice to have that edited into preexisting fics already on here, but it's not required. Instructions on how to format posts can be seen here.

Been working on a fic that covers Brie and the Hungry Choir over the length of Pale. Currently I have three planned parts, split into Brie going through the ritual and immediate aftermath, Brie figuring out how to Host the Hungry Choir, and what she does afterwards when it is unmade. The last part may have to wait for Pale to finish to decide where I want to end it, but the first two are loosely outlined enough to write. There's a lot of fiddly details that I want to make sure line up with canon for this, without outright repeating large sections of the text.

traveled to colorado about a week ago and have been adjusting to the altitude + dryness since. hoping to get back into the swing of things for the next empty thrones chapter so i can have it out later this month.

I've had an idea about writing some fiction that explores the pros and cons of the seal and the circumstances that might prompt someone to support the seal benevolently and how that can still do harm. I'm also thinking of doing a crossover that explores what happens when practitioners interact with a society where people have a genetic magic sytem and explore the idea of a world where muggles can gain magic via Awakening
