Title: fist in the air (and her head in the sand
Rating: Teen
Major Warnings: None apply
Genre: Daemon AU, character study
Summary:
When Lucy is under siege, Martinus stands with her, transforming into something that bristles as much as she cannot and raising all the points she keeps in her head. Strangers mutter about how often Martinus spends as a roaring lion or prickly hedgehog in public, but they don't see the way he spills over Lucy's lap as a prize bunny or prances to experimental music as a goat when alone.

The last poll on how to do open threads was tied between one with multiple premade categories and one without. Generally, it feels like there have been more responses to open threads with premade categories, so I'm going back to that, with a slight change: two categories, one for fanfic and one for everything else. The poll might be re-run when there will be more than five respondents total.

Title: Cut It Out and Restart

Rating: Mature

Major Warnings: Graphic violence, character death

Genre: Canon compliant, side character focus

Summary: In less than a year, the entire direction of Brie's life flipped on her -- not once, or twice, but three separate times. She went from a desperate Innocent clawing for survival to a Host of forces that most would never dare to approach, making choices that can never be taken back. Now, in a world increasingly torn with violence, Brie must decide what to do with all the time the Hungry Choir gave her. A story of Brie across the events of Pale.

Edits to ending to make it longer!

Open from Aug 4 to Aug 17.

As I have said earlier, right now a lot of things are in experiment mode. How do you all feel about the threaded comment features being used to split discussion into Otherverse serials talk, fanfic talk, and general? Right now, all the thread posts are being created manually the day of, but it is possible to automate them by sending in scheduled emails with formatting. Comments cannot be posted automatically ahead of time like that.

If you haven't already, drop something in the August rec thread. What have you been reading this month?
